Handling life, like handling horses, is a balance between appreciating the beauty and the danger.
Life is a lot like feeding a horse a carrot. If done correctly, you are rewarded by warm breath and a velveteen nose on your palm. But you’ve got to keep your fingers out of the way or you’ll lose one.
You’ve got to be aware and fully present. In the picture above, the cyclist’s mistake is that he refused to heed the horse’s obvious body language. Similarly, we usually refuse to heed the obvious warnings of our nature, our culture, and each other.
At Horses May Bite, we’re sitting up, paying attention, and keeping our fingers out of the way.
